Lorna Bauer works primarily in photography, video, and installation. Her work plays with issues of representation, perception, and visibility. Bauer examines the institution of photography by pushing the medium to its limits. By capturing imagery that often goes overlooked or by drawing attention to things purposefully ignored, she redevelops the relationship between viewer, artist, and artwork. Bauer received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with distinction from Concordia University in 2005 and her Masters degree from the University of Toronto in 2009. She has been involved in many group exhibitions and has shown her work in solo exhibitions at Gallery Les Territoires in Montreal and in the projection access space at the Art Gallery of Mississauga. Bauer lives and works in Montreal.
