Ayano Ohmi lives and works in New York City. She received her MFA in Sculpture from the City College of New York. She has exhibited widely in the U.S. and abroad, including France, Japan, Italy, Ghana, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Argentina. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, Kiln God Grant from Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, USA; Fundacion Igneri Fellowship, Dominican Republic; and artist-in-residency at Art Omi International Arts Center, NY; Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, Japan; Guldagergaard, Denmark; and Zentrum Fur Keramik, Berlin, Germany.
