223-225 West 10th Street New York, New York

October 05, 2018 – November 17, 2018

Time Equities Inc. Art-in-Buildings is pleased to announce the newest exhibition at the West 10th Window: Robbin Deyo, The Gathering (Assembly #2).

Robbin Deyo’s The Gathering (Assembly #2) has a quiet presence. Composed of unique spherical wooden forms, each hand-turned on a lathe and painted, Deyo’s objects are evocative of biological forms such as spores, sea urchins, and viruses, or suggestive of symbols of radiant energies, such as chakras and starbursts. Within the boundaries of the West 10th Window, Deyo’s forms push against the walls and glass, maintaining a delicate balance. Their installation within the vitrine of the window suggests that the forms are specimens to be studied, but en masse they are evocative of sentient moving forms, clambering over each other for a view, prepared and poised to break out. Invading or inhabiting, Deyo explores how these pseudo-biological objects take up space, filling their environment and interacting amongst themselves.
