1000 Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois

1000M is a soaring 74-story condominium skyscraper designed by internationally-renowned architect, Helmut Jahn, with interiors by acclaimed designer, Kara Mann. 1000M is located at the edge of Grant Park, Chicago’s own front yard, on iconic Michigan Avenue. Named after the Great Lake that it borders, Michigan Avenue is the backdrop to the city’s best shopping and cultural experiences. While North Michigan Avenue has earned a reputation as the “Magnificent Mile,” with its storied brands and boutiques, South Michigan Avenue claims the “Cultural Mile” as its moniker, with legendary museums, theaters and art galleries. JAHN, led by internationally-renowned architect, Helmut Jahn, has designed the 832-foot residential skyscraper. Jahn’s design for 1000M is inspired by the site’s position at the intersection of nature and city. 1000M gradually widens at the northeast and southwest corners, allowing its floor plate to transition from an efficient rectangle at the base to an expansive parallelogram at the top, giving even the southwestern units prime views of Lake Michigan and Grant Park.
