Chris Bogia received his BFA at New York University and MFA from Yale University, and currently lives in Queens, NY. Bogia is the recipient of a 2018 grant from the Pollack-Krasner Foundation, a 2018 Queens Council for the Arts grant, the 2017 Rema Hort Mann Foundation’s Artist Community Engagement Grant, the 2015 Tiffany Foundation grant, a 2018 Pollock-Krasner grant and was an artist-in-resident at the Queens Museum Studio Program 2016-2018. Recent exhibitions include a solo presentation at Mrs. Gallery 2019, 2018 Spring Break Art Show, group exhibitions at Shulamit Nazarian, Los Angeles, Bric, Brooklyn, Mrs. Gallery, Ruschman Gallery, Chicago, Mercer College in NJ, the Law Warschaw Gallery at Macalester College in MN, The New Museum, and presentations at the 2018 and 2020 NADA Art Fair with Mrs. Gallery. Bogia is the former Director and co-founder of Fire Island Artist Residency (FIAR), the first LGBTQ artist residency in the world, located in Cherry Grove, on Fire Island, NY, as well as an instructor of sculpture at New York University. Bogia is represented by Mrs. Gallery in Maspeth Queens.
