Seth Chwast is a differently-abled artist who uses paint as a medium to communicate. 
He was diagnosed with autism as a very young child lived for years in his own world. A dramatic change came in 2003, when at age 20 he took an oil painting class at the Cleveland Museum of Art. After this experience, Chwast began to describe his world through paint. Chwast has exhibited internationally, including at the Madejski Gallery, Galapagos; National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman; Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Cleveland, OH; Museum of Modern Art Ukraine, Kiev, Ukraine, among others. His first solo exhibition at a major art museum, “The Artistic Autistic Mind: A Glimpse at the Work of Seth Chwast” opened on April 6th, 2014 at The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio.He completed the Omi International Artists’ Residency at Omi International Arts Center, Ghent, NY in 2008, and in 2012, Chwast’s work was selected by the United Nations to be featured on the Autism Awareness Stamp.
