The slow, repetitive movements and richly saturated colors of Minter’s lush 8-minute video Green Pink Caviar can appear abstract upon an initial, brief encounter. Shot with macro lenses, the video is composed of extreme close ups of mouths, teeth, and tongues licking candy and cake decorations off a clear pane of glass. The video walks a voyeuristic line between eroticism and the grotesque. Projected directly onto the front pane of the West 10th Window, the video collapses the boundary between the work and the viewer, as if these lurid mouths, teeth, and tongues are actually licking, sucking, and spitting directly onto the window itself.
